There’s lots of options to tweak the sound with FX such as delay, reverb and EQ.Īncient Voices is a top notch Kontakt all-male choir library from Embertone that will cost you nothing.

Because I had spent so long looking I thought I’d share some of the best Kontakt libraries for free with you. But I did find a load of freebies and discount offers (I ended up spending more money). My search didn’t find me anything to use in my track. They done a limited time offer on their site (I love their opera vocal and string instruments) so I thought before paying any money – could I find anything for free? I knew it was a longshot but went and had a good search in Google. I then remembered I got a really nice free Kontakt library from SoundIron a couple of years ago. I’ve spent a crazy amount in the studio recently – so I didn’t want to pay out too much (if I could help it). Unfortunately this time I couldn’t find anything that I liked so I thought I’d look for something new. One of my go to instruments for such things is NI Kontakt. It had a really big breakdown – and I wanted some strings and vocals for atmosphere. I think that everyone should stay away from Shreddage, samples are super super noisy.Īh, actually Pearl Concert Grand, Koto Nation are noisy too, not as noisy as Shreddage though, I think they just have bad recording gears.I was recently on the hunt for new sounds for a track I was writing. (Electri6ity is also OK, but it is a bundle library.) If you only need a cheap library for arpeggios / simple power chords on every beat, then get orange tree / Ample. Get Prominy if you are looking for the best, it has more RR and real chord strumming samples, real sustained slides. If memory serves, I got them at the member area.Īnyway I am a semi-pro guitar player, and here is my 2cents: I have been using these presets for years, I don't even bother to change anything, they just sound great & convincing. So yeah, Shreddage 2 for Rhythm, and Ample AME for lead, if metal is what you're aiming for.Dude, Prominy released Guitar Rig / Amplitube presets for V Metal, almost all demo songs' amp settings are there (as well as MIDI files). It just sounded bad when put through Peavey Revalver, and bad but not as bad when put through Bias FX. It always had this whiny sound to it, and nobody ever shares how their amp sim setup in order to replicate a proper sound. Prominy V-Metal sounds really thin, and I just could not get it to sound anything like the videos on Youtube. Sure, with the default settings it might have some use as a background sound, but upfront, especially when run through an amp sim? Ew. I found that Joey Sturgis' Toneforge Menace is as good an amp sim to pair it with as any.ĨDio's Post Apocalyptic guitar isn't good. Shreddage just cannot do a quality lead sound in my experience, AGG is good but it's too whiny with a decent amount of overdrive/distortion applied, and the Evolution guitars sound like crap midi when distorted. Goes well with Guitar Rig, with the Corn Now preset being my reliable fall-back.Īmple Sound's AME isn't great, but it's the best I've found for a metal lead. Shreddage 2 with updates (with the suffix v2e) is very good for Rhythm. The tone behind the noise was pretty decent, and the tapping mode is great, but again, it's just too noisy. Shreddage 3 is good for clean guitars and maybe some standard rock, but is far too noisy to be good for metal tried running it through Amplitube and Bias FX, and it was just too noisy.
